Step 1
Start outside
Choose Manatee Cove, Kelly Park East or Rotary Park Nature Center for a walk, launch point or family stop.
Lagoon parks + a water-first island day
Explore Merritt Island beyond the causeways with Tropical Trail, lagoon parks, nature centers and easy access to boating, paddling and Kennedy-area adventures.
Merritt Island is defined by water. The Indian River, Banana River, Sykes Creek and smaller canals create a day built around parks, boats and wildlife rather than one downtown strip.
Manatee Cove Park, Kelly Park East and Rotary Park Nature Center are useful public anchors. North Tropical Trail also leads toward Pine Island conservation lands and the Kennedy Space Center corridor.
Step 1
Choose Manatee Cove, Kelly Park East or Rotary Park Nature Center for a walk, launch point or family stop.
Step 2
Use a current boat, kayak or tour operator if you want to get onto the lagoon, and check weather and launch conditions before leaving.
Step 3
Choose a waterfront meal or sunset stop on the island, or continue to Cocoa Village or the Port if you want a busier evening.
