Grant-Valkaria combines miles of lagoon frontage with preserved pine lands, equestrian properties, golf and several boat-launching parks. It is one of the clearest Old Florida contrasts to Brevard's busier commercial centers.

Micco and Barefoot Bay continue that quieter south-county rhythm. Fishing, paddling, neighborhood recreation and proximity to Sebastian Inlet are stronger reasons to visit than nightlife.
